According to the author, any heel any higher than 4 inches could really be categorized as a mega-heel, pointing out that strippers typically wear 8-inch heels.
Tweed is showing up in all kinds of fall collections this year. You’ll find great tweed skirts, pants, blazers, outerwear, hats, and shoes. I found these super feminine black tweed sling-backs from Charles by Charles David (one of my favorite designers!) and it was LOVE at first sight! At $144, I’m in!
Cole Haan signed on with Nike a few years back to create a more comfortable designer shoe. (What a concept!) The result is a new line of Fall 2009 flats, boots and heels that have innovative cushioning deceptively hidden inside, according to Maria Sharapova, a Cole Haan spokesperson.
One boot in this new line is the Air Petra boot, available now for $301.00. These equestrian-inspired boots can be worn over jeans or with the new fall trend of brightly colored tights and a tunic or dress. Read more on Cole Haan style with Nike Air comfort…
Shoe fashion trends, as reported by MillionLooks.com, seem to be favoring over-the-knee boots and ankle boots.
Over-the-knee boots in soft fabrics are being seen pulled up over the knee or slouched down. Other materials: Leather, suede, drap, silk and lace. Favorite colors: Black, brown, red and grey. These boots can be worn with short dresses, mini skirts, shorts, trousers, skinny jeans or over tights and long socks. Read more on Over-the-knee and ankle boots for fall/winter…
Season 2 of “The Rachel Zoe Project” premieres TONIGHT! (Monday, August 24th) at 10 p.m. EST on Bravo.
Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe—most known transforming Nicole Richie’s look a few years ago—hits the reality TV junket with her fun, fabulous show “The Rachel Zoe Project.” Season 1 was must-see-TV for anyone interested in high-end fashion and what the celebrities are wearing. The show basically revolves around fashion shows, awards ceremonies, designer brands and styling tips and tricks from the stars.
Famous animal rights activist and shoe designer Stella McCartney recently spoke out about her commitment to more humane business practices.
“It is 70 per cent more expensive for us to make non-leather shoes. Thank God we have a profitable business and can afford to do it. But ultimately, I’m a fashion designer and I see it as my job to create a desirable pair of boots, whether they are made from recycled cotton or a cardboard box. I find the technical challenge thrilling.”
Check out some of my favorites from Stella’s collection for Adidas…
A new trailer was released yesterday for “New Moon,” the second installment of the “Twilight” series, complete with brand-new footage just released by the filmmakers.
Hottie Jacob Black (played by hottie Taylor Lautner) is interviewed about his role in the movie. And yes, ladies, he has his shirt off! And bloodsucking-heartthrob Edward Cullen (played by real-life-heartthrob Robert Pattinson) is just as gorgeous as ever.
The year was 1982. Jelly shoes made their debut at the World’s Fair in Knoxville, TN. Fast forward a couple of years and the ubiquitous, sparkly jellies were everywhere. Yeah, I think it could accurately be called a craze.
Now the same company that created jelly shoes, Brazilian brand Melissa (the designer branch of Grendene shoes) is now launching a new line of flexible footwear with designer flair.
Who’s in?
Vivienne Westwood.
Alexandre Herchcovitch.
Isabela Capeto.
Karim Rashid.
Wow. Plastic shoes are back…and better than every apparently. I guess this is the legacy of the Croc, which we’ve embraced to the tune of 100 million pairs in the last seven years. Read more on They’re Baaaaaaaaack……
“I don’t like Steve (Madden),” funny man Will Ferrell said from the red carpet at the Las Vegas premier of his new movie, The Goods. “I like Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik. Steve Madden can suck it.”
Hysterical. This is why I love Will Ferrell, despite the fact that he always seems compelled to include a mostly-naked-furry-beer-belly scene in his movies.
The stars say that now is an opportune time to break out of ruts. If you’ve been cooped up all summer, get out and socialize, try some new kind of physical activity, or step out of a fashion rut that you’ve been in. When it comes to fashion, most Aries gals like to create their own trends, so take a few pointers from what’s hot this fall and make it your own. These sport boots by b.o.c. are a little off the beaten path and unexpected, but definitely versatile and fashion-forward.
