The ankle boots are out in force in the stores and on the streets and I love it! I really am a “child of the 90’s,” so maybe that’s why I’m so psyched to see all these 80’s-inspired looks coming back. (People I know who were into fashion in the 80’s don’t share my enthusiasm. Haters.)
Let’s kick it back to THE fashion icon of the 80’s…the Material Girl herself. She rocked the ankle boots with black capri-length leggins and the micro-mini. A totally fun look!
In case you’re wondering WHY I’m trippin’ down memory lane…well, for Halloween I’m dressing up as Madonna in her Desperately Seeking Susan era. Gonna be a BLAST!
Here are some great pictures and video I dug up. Enjoy…
And is this a find…or what? Vintage (no sound) footage of Madonna circa 1983 from Club New York Productions:
Tinu, known for her singing/songwriting talents as well as for being a designer and soon-to-be author, debuted a new single and video from her sophomore album “Addicted” today.
She describes the “Shoeholic” video as “a very high-fashion Sex and the City meets Confessions of a Shopaholic.” The video features drop-dead gorgeous shoes from Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Roberto Cavalli, Gianmarco Lorenzi, Guiseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo as well as a Tinu Shoebag® (a shoe-shaped handbag). You’ll recognize these Louboutin thigh-high boots worn by Kylie Minogue in the “Shoeholic” video. Personally, I’d love to have that red velvet shoe-shaped chair!!
You guys already know that I am a big fan of Megan Fox’s style, especially when it comes to shoes. She can play pull off all extremes—from ultra-feminine red carpet glitz & glam to uber-grungy, hard-core looks.
Shoe-crazies everywhere (present company included!) are all abuzz about the high-heel sneakers seen on the runaway musical comedy of the year, Glee. I wrote about the Glee shoes a few weeks back, but I still haven’t bought myself a pair. Recently, I have been thinking of something a little bit like these:
Maybe they’re a tiny bit more suited to guidance counselor
Emma Pillsbury than to Quinn Fabray and the rest
of the Cheerios, but these shoes still have that high-heel
sneaker vibe. The wedge makes them comfy and
practical for everyday wear…and with metallic detailing
and little cotton shoelaces, they are super cute.
You know you want a pair!!
On Monday, U2 announced that it would stream Sunday night’s concert on YouTube. The Google-owned video streaming site said that the concert would be archived and available to view after it streams live.
Remember this photo, taken back in 2008 for Marie Claire magazine, of pop singer (and preggers!) Christina Aguilera wearing nothing but Christian Louboutin’s red-soled heels?
In a recent interview with Britian’s Cosmopolitan, the 28-year-old star (and mom to 20-month-old son, Max) said:
