Shoe-crazies everywhere (present company included!) are all abuzz about the high-heel sneakers seen on the runaway musical comedy of the year, Glee. I wrote about the Glee shoes a few weeks back, but I still haven’t bought myself a pair. Recently, I have been thinking of something a little bit like these:
Maybe they’re a tiny bit more suited to guidance counselor
Emma Pillsbury than to Quinn Fabray and the rest
of the Cheerios, but these shoes still have that high-heel
sneaker vibe. The wedge makes them comfy and
practical for everyday wear…and with metallic detailing
and little cotton shoelaces, they are super cute.
You know you want a pair!!
[Update October 22, 2009: It's so hard to find high-heel sneakers to buy at all, let alone high-heel sneakers you could wear everyday. I found a pair that's toned down a tad so it's wearable everywhere! Check it out: http://www.shoezodiac.com/glee-shoes-toned-down-a-tad/ ]
My favorite new shoe of the season is Glee. If you haven’t seen this yet, you need to do two things. Number 1: catch up on back episodes at hulu.com/glee. (Episodes 1-5 have already aired.) Number 2: Tune in to Fox Wednesday night (October 7) for Episode 6 at 9/8c.
As if I didn’t already love the shoe [cheerleader voice: "As if!"], I was completely and irrevocably in love with it after this number, in which Mercedes (played by Amber Riley) breaks out into a music-video style rendition of Jazmine Sullivan’s song “Bust Your Windows,” complete with cheerleader back-up dancers in…and here it is…high heel sneakers and knee-hi tube socks. Frickin’ awesome.
